报告摘要: Double Higgs final states either via the Higgs self-coupling or a heavy resonant decay are not observed yet, although the former is predicted in the Standard Model. Various searches in different Higgs decay products are being conducted at ATLAS with the Run 2 data. The 4b final states, where both Higgs decays to two b-jets, will be presented. Such a full hadronic decay mode suffers from enormous background. A novel machine learning technique is used in a data-driven way to estimate the background.
Towards the LHC Run 3 and HL-LHC, computing resource requirement becomes a challenging issue. Efforts have been made at ATLAS to research and develop new ideas, tools and infrastructure to meet future requirement. A new infrastructure for machine learning and hyperparameter optimisation at ATLAS will be presented. Outlook will be given including machine learning and quantum machine learning in high energy physics.

He obtained his Ph.D in the University of Bonn, Germany, with the research on the single top quark production at ATLAS. He had worked in the BESIII collaboration in the UCAS on the topic of a charm quark FCNC decay for the Master degree, and studied in Tianjin University for his Bachelor’s degree. His current interest includes di-higgs searches, top quark measurements, machine learning in high energy physics and quantum machine learning.
