廖益,南开大学教授、国家自然科学基金委杰出青年基金获得者(2011年)。主要从事粒子物理和量子场论的研究工作,包括中微子物理、暗物质、Higgs物理与对撞机物理、手征动力学、非对易时空中的量子场论及唯象学等。
摘 要:
After making a brief introduction to the standard model, I will talk about recent advances in the standard model effective field theory. Regarding the standard model as an effective field theory, the low energy effects from high-scale physics are incorporated into a tower of higher dimensional operators. I first review the literature before our work, and then focus on three aspects: (1) The complete and independent set of dimension-seven operators and renormalization of a subset of them; (2) A power counting rule for renormalization of operators with the same dimension; (3) The complete and independent sets of dimension-six and -seven operators when light sterile neutrinos are introduced into the standard model. Some phenomenology will also be briefly discussed.
